Just how close is heaven? at times it is just beyond a thin veil.

Just how close is my God when circumstance and trials
prevail?

Fallen from the moving train, maimed and left in defeat,
oh how close one can be to death’s door and be right at
Jesus’ feet.

Redeemed, restored, resurrected this is my story, my
faithful and sure relief.

Surrounded by heavenly host among many witnesses I
have found belief.

Oh how close is heaven, I taste it, I sense it in the air!

Its closer to my weakness and draws near in my soul’s despair.

One sinner has repented, I, a lost sheep have been found in the way.

Heaven is close, hear the praises and rest at the throne of God’s grace today.
