I have noticed something growing up in church culture, our perception of God is often skewed. Either by preference, tradition or even scholarship we have a great capacity to misinterpret and miscomunicate who God is to those around us.
“(8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord . [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. [10] For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: [11] So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:8-11
As obvious as it may seem God indeed is not someone we can just figure out and fully understand. It’s a humbling part of faith to admit and live with, but given you take the step in this direction the truth is refreshing.
Think of being in love, if you have been there you know that it is beyond comprehension, beyond your senses, and far from being fully understood. You just find it to be absolutely true, whether in truth or a deception I cannot say but in the sense of being love is something our feeble souls can recognize. We long for it really, it manifests itself all throughout humanity it is the pandora’s box in every life. Leave it alone and just maybe it won’t make a mess of your heart but for most love is something inescapably sweet drawing us in.
How does love manifest in your life?
No matter how it manifest in your life whether it is in your passions, hobbies, relationships, or even your own traditions love has a way of directing one towards its source.

This is something I find written in my wife’s notes quite often, it really caught me recently and inspired me to write this post.
God thoughts are kind towards me
My conscience is darkened and I am held hostage to its guilty plea, but God thoughts are kind towards me.
In all of my regrets and in failures as far as eyes can see, God thoughts are kind towards me
No matter the situation or whatever the past records us to be, God thoughts are kind towards me
Eternally paid, eternally settled in time God loved us first so He could say “I am yours and you are MINE”
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. [10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. [11] Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
1 John 4:8,10-11
So in the truest sense the best way to represent God to this world is nothing apart from loving one another. God thoughts are kind believe it, He loved us first!
