Calling out in Faith

Jer 17:14  Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

Jer 17:15  Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.

Jer 17:16  As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.

Jer 17:17  Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.

Jer 17:18  Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

Deliverance is the deepest cry for all creation. It is the cry of your heart when you fail, it is the cry of a child lost in the grocery store, it is the cry for more money to pay the bills. Deliverance is what we cry out for everyday.  Jeremiah cried for deliverance here in Chapter 17:14, He desired a movement from God through Him, much like us today, much like me standing here now.  Very briefly I would like to preach about this amazing deliverance that Jeremiah is crying out for, and with this I believe there is something much deeper to be found.  Lets look to the scriptures find out what deliverance is with God, and walk this week in that amazing power

<14>   Take a moment to really understand this cry of Jeremiah.  Many today are crying heal me Lord, Save me Lord, and Praise the Lord, but there is something more here, something deeper, something that you and I miss out on as we pray.  Many times I pray just as Jeremiah, crying Lord help me, save me, heal me, and praise thee, but it is lacking, it is not sufficient. Why is this, what is in this scripture that is not within my prayers so often?  It is faith

You and I live in a faithless and fearful time, we have all but lost our faith in many things, this often extends to God.  The very one that we should have unrelenting faith in, is often the first to go.  We do not cry heal me and I will be healed, or save me and I will be saved.  All to often we stop at the request, we stop at the need not seeing that the need will be met in some way by our amazing God.  Lord give me a ministry to the lost, Lord I cry for my family in need of you, restore the people that have gone astray Lord….These are our cries without answers oftentimes as we speak with such doubt or fear. God still hears these cries, but how much more would we see mountains move before us if faith were mixed into our daily cries to God?

God has not given us to the spirit of Fear in Romans 8, Throughout His Life Jesus Christ would simply call out “fear not, Fear not, and again fear not”.  There is an amazing bondage of fear in our cries for deliverance, there is an amazing doubt seeded into our hearts soil. This is not God’s spirit, This is the first adam, the fallen man , the condemned nature of sin.  For some of us that is all we have, and I say to you there is deliverance for you.

There is a cry that God is on the edge of His throne waiting to hear, His hands are ready to motion the angels into rejoicing for your soul today.  It is this cry of faith, this helpless plea directed to the saving ever graceful God that needs to be uttered from our hearts today.

<15>Unfortunately we hear another cry within our hearts. It is a cry of judgment,a cr of condemnation that wounds us deep. Our own hearts will cry out in judgment and echo the words “where is the word of the Lord” where is it in your finances, where is the word of the Lord in your conversations, where is the word of the Lord, where is God?  We are quick within ourselves to let this question resonate and saturate our thought life, our speaking as we will speak in fear of circumstances and situations, and even our actions as we can be so consumed that we allow fear to paralyze all future movement.  This is the lie within our fallen flesh, this is the ever nagging spirit of Satan and his design to leave us in obscurity and doubt.  Just as Jeremiah we can respond in faith today and say I have not hastened from being a pastor, I have not left your presence Lord, I have not left you because you have never left me.  This is the truth, we cannot leave the word of God if we have received it.  We will be with a message burning in our bones, we will be constantly encouraged as we know we cannot leave our God and He will never forsake us.  We do not have to live in fear and doubt when we live in faith, when we call out in faith.  We, in faith will find we can declare the word of God and witness it become true, witness the effects of the truth in others. Faith to faith God responds giving us faith as we respond to Him in faith.  Our God is the God of things that were not,and He is the God of the impossible, no matter how cliché this has become, it is the undeniable truth

We can have confidence that our words are right before God, our life is right before God because we can know by faith it is hid in Christ, the ever right Son!  Let us not be confounded as others will be confounded, let us not be dismayed when others are dismayed.  Let us in Christ call out in faith today for the impossible and know our God will act and move in our lives! Let us who are looking for truth today or seeking Christ call out in faith for salvation and know we can be saved today.  Be transformed to His way, challenge God in faith to reply to your cries, seek Him today and find the eternal in your finite life.

Faith, faith what a calling and what a cry

Faith a call to believe my loving savior lest I die

A call to be healed, a call to be renewed

A call to love others and a call to be loved and eternally pursued

Pursued by God above and cultivated in His grace

Faith the ability to see beyond the veil and meet Jesus face to face

Where has faith gone, when did I ever attain or acquire,

A longing for God and a heart soft to the Spirit driven by consecrated desire?

My gaze has met the cross, its healing power I cannot comprehend or describe

I know in looking towards my Savior crucified, it was then my faith came alive.

Can these bones live? Only You my Savior know

And only you can take the condemned seed I am and make it grow.
